What Are ACES and PIES?

ACES (Aftermarket Catalog Exchange Standard) and PIES (Product Information Exchange Standard) are the two foundational data standards maintained by the Auto Care Association.

ACES — Vehicle Fitment Data

ACES defines how vehicle fitment data is structured:

• Year range (from/to)
• Make (Ford, Cummins, Volvo, etc.)
• Model (F-250, ISX15, VNL, etc.)
• Engine (6.0L V8 Diesel, etc.)
• Sub-model

PIES — Product Information

PIES defines product information structure:

• Part numbers and cross-references
• Descriptions and marketing copy
• Dimensions and weight
• Images and digital assets
